Self-awareness is the art of being attentive and mindful of how our thought, emotions, and actions affect others, our surroundings, and ourselves.  Although the concept can seem self-righteous, it is a valuable tool for navigating the world.

When we have the ability to pinpoint why and how something is influencing us, we then create agency and can be in the driver’s seat instead of letting our fears, thoughts, and emotions get the better of us. Without that, we can succumb to our impulses and act rashly, leading to regrettable consequences.
